We’ve had these available for a little while now and are starting to consistently recommend them as the “you truly get what you pay for” alternative to Harvest Right units. The capacity is similar to a Medium Pharmaceutical model, but the Xiros Mikro is significantly more reliable and has a top tier build quality.

Thankfully no, the Xiros Mikros line of freeze dryers from Holland Green Science is easy to make the switch to from Harvest Right models, or, if you’ve never used a freeze dryer, you can get the hang of it in a few batches. 

It really depends on how much you value your time. The oil pump is very reliable and easy to work with, but it does require oil changes like any other vacuum pump, which means you need to have the right supplies on hand and someone who knows how to do it. The Aether Scroll oilless vacuum pump upgrade is not cheap but they are much quieter and do not require any maintenance.
