Standard vs. Premium Hand Pump Kits Explained
The main difference between the standard and premium pump options is how many inches of travel per stroke of the handle. The premium option for example uses about 1/4th the pumps for full function compared to the standard. The premium option is highly recommended for large harvests or commercial outfits due to its lack of effort required. Both are a hash maker’s dream due to the very slow or quick application of force available, but if you need to get through a lot of material, get the premium or air pump option.
Air Pump
The Air BVA system requires an air compressor for function (110-175 psi). We recommend California Air Tools air compressors, as they are fairly quiet and generally great machines! It's relatively quick in its application of pressure, making it more ideal for commercial applications. This system requires a little bit of experience when pressing hash due to its faster pressure application but it is the ultimate pump to use with a Lowtemp V2 rosin press for large scale labs or customers seeking maximum convenience.

No, if you bought a V2 rosin press system from us, you should not need this upgrade kit for any reason. This product is specifically for people that bought our V2 tall style press that is meant to work with bottle jacks who want to get a lower profile rosin press which works with our upgraded hydraulic options. If you’re unsure, just contact us to get some help.

While the Air Pump does cost more, it is extremely convenient if you’d prefer to skip hand pumping. Otherwise, if budget is a factor, springing for the Premium Hand Pump is our most popular option for people who don’t need the Air Pump’s throughput.
